with the option of walking, culture and sight seeing, a taste of wildlife
and adventure, and, of course, the opportunity to enjoy sun, sea and sand.
Day 01 : (Arrive Colombo)
On arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport, our local representative
will welcome and escort you to your transport for transfer to Colombo
(30km - 45mts to 1hr). Check-in at the hotel and relax. Overnight stay
at the hotel.
Day 02 : (Colombo)
After your breakfast we proceed towards the local city tour of Colombo
the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. The city tour will include the Independence
Square, BMICH complex, busy bazaar, churches, temples and kovils in and
around the city. We return to the Hotel by late afternoon. Rest of the
day is at your leisure. You can explore the city or shop for local goods.
Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 03 : (Kegalle/Anuradhapura)
After breakfast, we proceed to Anuradhapura, located in the north central
part of the island. We reach Anuradhapura with a short stopover at the
Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage in Kegalle. Overnight stay at the hotel in
Anuradhapura.
Day 04 : (Anuradhapura)
After breakfast we start on a city tour of Anuradhapura. Visit the sacred
Bo tree where Buddha attained enlightenment. We also see the Brazen Palace
- a magnificent 2nd century residence for monks, Ruwanweliseya, the most
famous of all dagobas, the Isurumuniya rock temple, well known for its
carving of "the lovers", and the Thuparama dagoba, the oldest
on the island which enshrines a relic of the Buddha. Overnight stay at
Anuradhapura.
Day 05 : (Polonnaruwa/Dabulla)
After breakfast we proceed to the Islands Medieval Capital - Polonnaruwa.
We see the ruins of the King's Council Chamber, the Royal Citadel, the
Kumara Pokuna (Pond), Royal Pavilion, Siva Devale (11th century Hindu
Temple), the Thuparama with its original vaulted roof, the Vatadage Relic
House - lavished with moonstones, guardstones and sculptured railing and
the Kiri Vehera. We reach Dabulla and spend the night at the hotel.
Day 06 : (Sigiriya/Kandy)
After breakfast, we proceed to the World Heritage Site of the Sigiriya
Rock Fortress. You can also climb to the top of the 600 ft edifice for
a magnificent view of the surrounding jungle and the distant hills. In
Sigiriya you can visit the historic Dambulla Cave Temple. We then proceed
to Kandy with a short stop at a spice garden in Mathele for a close up
view of the role that herbs and spices play in traditional medicine. We
reach Kandy by evening and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 07 : (Kandy)
After breakfast we proceed for the city tour of Kandy - Visiting the
temple of holy tooth, Royal Botanical garden Gem museum, Arts & Craft
centres, also a drive around the Kandy lake. You and your beloved will
have the entire evening at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 08 : (Nuwara Eliya)
After breakfast you can complete the city tour of the bustling city Kandy.
Visit a traditional batik-making factory. Alternatively you and your beloved
can go for a stroll in the market place and shop for local souvenirs. In
the afternoon we proceed to Nuwara Eliya. Drive through the grand tea gardens
of Sri Lanka. We take a short break at Ramboda for a breath of fresh air
that comes with the scent of Eucalyptus and Cypress tress.
Continue your journey to Nuwara Eliya. Along the way you can enjoy the
spectacular scenery and waterfalls. Reach Nuwara Eliya via winding roads
and a range of mountains kissed by the misty clouds. Check in at the hotel
and stay overnight.
Day 09 : (Nuwara Eliya)
After breakfast visit Lake Gregory, old racecourse, playing ground and
entertainment arena, the Horton Plains at around 7000 mts above sea level.
You can also enjoy the view at the World's End. Rest of the day is at
leisure. You can explore the city on your own or shop around. We will
spend the night at Nuwara Eliya.
Day 10 : (Ella Wellawaya/Thanamalwila)
After breakfast, proceed to TASK Camp at Thanamalwilla via Ella Wellawaya
visiting beautiful water falls & scenic surroundings. On the route
we stop for a short while at Uda Wlalawe National Park for a safari by
Jeeps. You could see elephants, Deer, Sambhar, wild buffaloes and many
other animals. The Safari will take about 3½ hrs, and after that
we again proceed to Task Camp and you will get to spend an unusual night
at the camp where you are given the highest security. You two will get
to experience a quiet evening where you would only hear the noises of
the creatures. Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 11 : (Galle)
After breakfast we proceed to Galle. We reach Galle by late afternoon
and check into a beautiful beach hotel. Relax in the evening. Overnight
stay at the Beach Hotel.
Day 12 : (Galle)
Day is at leisure. You and your beloved can spend time on the beautiful
beach. Overnight stay at the Beach hotel.
Day 13 : (Galle)
Day is at leisure. Overnight at the Beach Hotel.
Day 14 : (Colombo)
You will be transferred back to Colombo. The rest of the day is for catching
up with last minute shopping or relaxing. Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 15 : (Departure)
You will be taken to the Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo
by our local representative for the flight back home. Leave with unforgettable
memories of your Honeymoon in Sri Lanka.
